Microneedling at Sthetics Med Spa

Microneedling is one of the most trusted treatments for improving skin texture, minimizing scars, and softening fine lines, and for good reason. This minimally invasive treatment triggers your skin’s natural healing process, stimulating collagen and elastin production without heat, harsh chemicals, or extended downtime.

At Sthetics Med Spa, our approach to microneedling is all about personalization. Whether you're treating acne scars, early signs of aging, or simply want smoother, more refined skin, we customize the treatment depth, technique, and aftercare to suit your unique skin type and goals.

Microneedling is a science-backed solution with visible results — the kind of treatment that builds healthier skin over time.

Microneedling at a Glance

Stimulate. Restore. Glow.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, harnesses the power of fine, short needles as a dynamic solution for addressing deep lines, stretch marks, acne scars, and overall skin rejuvenation. It’s a compelling option for those who find traditional treatments like chemical peels, dermabrasion, and laser resurfacing less than satisfying.

Our cosmetic facial treatment is versatile and suitable for use from the ankles to the scalp. The renowned Dermaroller, a well-known microneedling device, ranges from 0.5 to 2.5 mm in needle length. As the skin heals, it becomes smoother, firmer, and has a more even tone. The treatment can be performed independently or combined with growth factors like PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) or targeted serums to boost results. Unlike more aggressive resurfacing options, microneedling is safe, effective, and adaptable to most skin tones and concerns.

How It Works

What is the Microneedling procedure like?

The procedure begins with sterilizing and disinfecting the targeted area. Following this, anesthesia is applied and allowed to set for an hour, ensuring skin numbness and patient comfort. Once your skin is prepped, your provider uses a medical-grade microneedling device to make precise passes over the treatment area. While the needles penetrate the dermis, the depth is tailored to meet the specific objectives of the treatment. Each session lasts around 60 minutes, providing an effective and rejuvenating experience.

Afterward, your skin may appear red and feel slightly warm, similar to a mild sunburn, but most clients find it tolerable and notice the difference in skin texture within days.

Your Skin’s Reset Button

Am I a candidate for Microneedling?

Most adults with healthy skin are good candidates for microneedling. It’s safe for a wide range of skin tones and concerns and can be adjusted for sensitive areas or more targeted correction.

You will need to avoid microneedling if you have an active skin infection, inflammatory acne flare-up, or certain medical conditions. Your provider will review your health history and skin condition to ensure it is an appropriate treatment for you.

Healing Gently, Looking Radiant

Microneedling Recovery

Downtime following a microneedling treatment is minimal. You may experience redness, warmth, or light flaking for a few days, but these effects fade quickly. Most clients return to normal activities within 24–48 hours. We recommend avoiding intense sun exposure, sweating, and active skincare ingredients for several days post-treatment.

We’ll send you home with clear aftercare instructions to help protect your skin and maximize your results.

Microneedling Results

Initial results, like smoother skin texture and a subtle glow, can often be seen within a week. Collagen production ramps up over time, so firmness, tone, and improvements in scar depth continue over several weeks.

For the best results, a series of 3–6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is often recommended, especially when treating scars or deeper wrinkles. Maintenance sessions can be performed seasonally to keep your skin looking fresh and supported.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do not use Accutane six months before treatment and topical agents that can increase skin sensitivity 5 to 7 days before treatment. Avoid anti-inflammatory medication 3 days before the session and sunburn at least two weeks before it. Those prone to cold sores should use an antiviral agent two days before and on the day of the treatment. Do not shave on the day itself to prevent skin irritation. After the treatment, do not use anti-inflammatory medications for a week and avoid direct sunlight exposure for two weeks. Use sunblock with SPF 30 or higher after 24 hours. Do not use arnica, bromelain, or ice on the face to facilitate skin rejuvenation.

The most popular and common areas are the neck, face, hands, and décolleté. Some people have it performed on the abdomen, hips, buttocks, and thighs.

While patients typically experience mild discomfort during the session, it is not painful. As the new collagen is stimulated, expect slight bleeding and micro bruises.

The risks are minor. Some people get allergic reactions from infection or follow-up routines. Listen to the aesthetician about the proper post-treatment procedures and follow their advice to prevent this. They will also present risks relevant to you before the procedure.
